Emmet Karner

Biographical sketch:

Emmet Karner is a first-year graduate student in the UMass Chan Medical School, Morningside Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. He received his B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UMass Amherst in 2017, where he held positions in the UMass Concert Band as flute section leader.

His current research interests involve understanding how cellular interaction with the extracellular matrix affects EMT and cancer stem cells.

In his free time, he enjoys playing music, particularly guitar, piano, and flute.
